From the Beginning...

To start, my name is Jene. I was born on Oct. 16th, 1970... yep, that makes me 40 now! WOW... 40 got here so much faster than I thought it would! :) I'm not really sure how to start but, I know I was born in Bellflower, Ca. My mother Mary, and father Gene, gave birth to me... a beautiful baby girl, way back when... (as my kids might think) and now here I am telling you my prospective of how I've become the person I am today. My parents were told I was going to be a boy so they decided to name me after my father, "Gene". To their surprise, and the doctors, I was a GIRL! My parents did not have a name picked out for a girl so they simply changed the "G" to "J" and here I am... Jene! Because of the way it is spelled, some people think my name is... Jenny, Jene`, Jeannie... you name it, I'm sure I've been called it. You simply pronounce it "Jean". My room was all done up in little blue soldiers and everything else you might imagine for a "boy's" room... I think that might be why I am a bit more "manly" than most women I know...LOL! I really don't know too much about my dad but I am learning a little bit more and more about him as I go. I know he was born on June 27th, 1946 and died when my daughter was just a new born, about 15 1/2 years ago. He was only 49 when he pasted away. He was diagnosed with Huntington's Chorea Disease back in 1989, or somewhere around then. As for my mom... even though she is still with us today... thank goodness, I really don't know too much about her either. She was born on March 1st, 1948 which makes her 63 today. She is not in the greatest health, but doing ok. So, now lets get back to me... I don't have much memory of those really young days but I will tell you a little bit about what I have be told by either my mom or family members....
